Come July 2020, the first edition of the David Oyelowo leadership summit for the girl child will hold in Enugu, south-eastern Nigeria. Thirty-three girls drawn from the North-East, South-East and South-West geopolitical zones of the country will be gracing this summit. These girls are beneficiaries of the David Oyelowo Leadership Scholarship for the Girl Child, as anchored by GEANCO Foundation.
The aim of the summit is to imbue into these girls essential disciplines, principles and practices that will enable them to emerge into leaders in their chosen careers. These girls who are all from very poor families will get to enjoy a summit that they could have only dreamed about.
Preparations are on top gear to make the summit a worthwhile experience for the girls. The facilitators for the summit are drawn from high fibre individuals from the United States and Nigeria. We all eagerly await the leadership summit.
